It’s already the third day of the Reading Rush, and I have to admit I didn’t get a lot of reading done during the day.
Catch up with my previous posts:
Work
I spent most of my day working. In my last update, I said I hoped I would get sent a text to edit, and I did! Had a lot of fun reading a thesis about how to get parents more involved in raising their children with intellectual disabilities. I always get a large variation of texts to edit, and this was one of the more interesting ones for sure.
Vacation!
It was also my last work day, and I’ll have vacation for over three weeks: until August 16th!! I’ll just be staying home but I’m very excited for all the free time. Between working from home and already needing a lot of time off to recover since I’m autistic, I have a hard time allowing myself to plan vacations – it makes me feel guilty, and working from home makes it very difficult to just not work at all – you easily feel like you can just do a few small tasks and don’t need the time off. If you work from home, you might feel similarly. But of course there’s a big difference between recovery time in which you likely don’t feel too great, and actual free time you can use for fun activities! So I’m proud of myself for setting this boundary, and excited to spend three weeks on whatever I fancy!
Daily Wrap-up
During the day, I didn’t do much reading. I did start Vicious Spirits by Kat Cho and read the first few chapters during breakfast. I read Wicked Fox, the previous installment, just last week and it was a 5 star read for me, so I’m very excited to get into this one!
I’ve also been rereading Heartsong by TJ Klune in before bed over the past few days. This is my favourite installment in the Green Creek series, so I’m really enjoying it (even though there’s PAIN), and I’m hoping to finish it soon.
Are you participating in the Reading Rush too? How is it going for you?
