First Quarter Stats & Favourites

This is a little belated, but I’ve decided to do check-in posts every quarter, where I discuss my reading stats of that quarter and my top 5 reads. This will culminate in a Top 20 of 2020 post at the end of the year!

Stats

From January 1st until March 31st, I’ve read a total of 90 books, so 30 every month. Out of those books 58 have been LGBTQ+, and 31 have been by authors of colour. I’m happy with the amount of LGBTQ+ books I’ve read, but I do want to make even more of an effort to read authors of colour.

A fun stat is that out of all those 90 books, only 2 books have been 1 star reads, and only 2 books have been 2 star reads. This means I’ve enjoyed the vast majority of the books I’ve read. I feel like I keep learning my own reading tastes better every year, and this is nice proof of that.

Top 5 reads

My favourite reads of the year so far are:

1. TJ Klune – The House in the Cerulean Sea

      1. The audiobook is AMAZING!!! It’s the one I would recommend. He is narrating it himself, and his voice and humor brought the book alive. I laughed so much! It’s an excellent memoir, one of the BEST!
