I already shared my Stay Home Reading Rush TBR yesterday, but I also saw that this tag was created. I think it was mostly meant for booktube, but I thought it would be fun to do it on my blog!

How is your reading going while staying home?

I’m actually at home most of the time anyway. I’m autistic, which makes going outside very overwhelming for me. And I’ve been depressed for a long time, which I’m still recovering from, so my energy levels aren’t great right now. Because of that, my reading hasn’t really changed because of the pandemic. But I have noticed that I’m having more trouble focusing, so I’ve mainly tried to put less pressure on myself to read and to read comforting books.

Where have you been reading at home?

I do a lot of my reading in the living room, but I also always read before bed. I have a few spots throughout the house where I love to read, so I sort of rotate between those.

Best book you’ve read during isolation?

It’s impossible for me to choose just one book here, because I’ve read a few new favourites during social distancing so far:

• Fortitude Smashed by Taylor Brooke (Taylor B. Barton)
• Camp by L.C. Rosen
• Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender

What’s your favourite feel good book?

I’m going to have to go with Heartstopper for this one, because that comic never fails to make me feel better.

Book you wish you could buy or borrow from the library?

I’ve seen a lot of people talk about My Dark Vanessa lately, and while I don’t read a lot of adult fiction, it sounds like I might have to make an exception for this one. I’ve seen nothing but raving reviews, and it’s been translated into Dutch as well. Usually with books like that, I don’t buy them but try to borrow them from the library. I might have to look into their ebook service to see if I can read it there.

Author you want to shout out during this time?

I will never not shout out Alice Oseman if given the opportunity. Not only because I love their books, but also because they always go out of their way to create SO MUCH uplifting content, and even more so right now. I’m subscribed to their Patreon, which means I get almost daily Heartstopper updates, and I couldn’t recommend that more, it’s my daily anxiety relief.
