I was tagged by Laura @ The Book Corps to do the My Favourite 2019 Blogging Moments tag. Thank you, Laura!
In this blogpost, the goal is to highlight your own blogpost that you’re most proud of, to take a moment to appreciate the work we put into our blogs. This is usually something that we gloss over a lot, when really a lot of work is put into maintaining a blog.
Laura came up with the following rules:
- All the answers must be about your blog posts
- Please link the original creator of the tag, Laura @ The Book Corps, so she can see all your posts!
- You don’t have to provide just one post for each question, you can provide as many as you want so long as they were written in 2019
- If you haven’t written a post that matches one of the questions, choose one that relates to it as close as possible
- Tag 5+ bloggers to they can share their accomplishments too! And make sure you read the posts they share!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK REVIEW?
Review: Dean Atta – The Black Flamingo
My review of The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta is my favourite one I’ve written this year, just because it was such a joy to write a review for this book. It’s one of my favourite books of the year, but not only that, it was so well written that it inspired me to really delve into it and approach it a little more analytically than I normally would in my reviews.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DISCUSSION POST?
#BiVisibilityDay: Getting Personal & 5 Recommendations
I don’t really write a lot of discussion posts, because honestly, they intimidate me. But I will sometimes add a discussion section in my blogposts, and the favourite post where I did that was probably my post on Bi Visibility Day, where I talked a little about my personal experience before sharing some recommendations.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FUN POST?
My post for the OsemanVerse book tag is the first one that came to mind for this question, because I had so much fun writing it and looking up all of Alice’s art work to include (of course I asked for permission to use it!). Alice Oseman is one of my absolute favourite authors, so this post was a joy to write.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK RECOMMENDATION POST?
#AceAwarenessWeek: 20 Asexual Recommendations
For this question, I’ll have to go with my most viewed post of the year, which I’m still very proud of. I feel very strongly about ace rep in books, so I’m really happy this post resonated with so many people!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK/BOOKISH PHOTO?
My favourite photo of the year is probably this photo I took with my different copies of my favourite book, Radio Silence by Alice Oseman. I’m so happy with both my signed, personalized copy that my friend got me at YALC, and my tote bag from Alice’s Redbubble store that my other friend got me for my birthday!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ORIGINAL IDEA/BLOG POST?
#PrideLibrary19: Introduction Post
One of my absolute favourite blogging moments of the year was to host #PrideLibrary19 with my friends Hâf @ The Library Looter and Michelle @ Michelle Likes Things during Pride Month. We got such an amazing response, and I had the best time, meeting so many lovely people in the blogging community and seeing so many amazing posts hyping up LGBTQ+ books! You can bet we’ll host another challenge during Pride Month 2020!!
WHAT’S YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE BLOG POST YOU WROTE THIS YEAR?
Day 9 of #PrideLibrary19 – 30 Days of Pride Tag
My favourite blog post of the year has probably been the 30 Days of Pride tag that I did in July, because it was one of my most personal posts, and I even used it to come out to one of my friends. I found it very scary to post this, but I got such an amazing response, and it helped me to write other more personal posts as well, like the bi visibility and ace week ones.
HAVE YOU REACHED ANY BLOGGING ACHIEVEMENTS THIS YEAR?
I definitely have! This was the first year I started actively blogging, so just to keep up with it for an entire year has been an amazing achievement, which I’m really proud of. I’m also very close to 500 blog followers, which is an achievement I certainly didn’t expect to reach within a year or so!
I TAG
Tagging people always gives me a lot of anxiety, so I’m not going to tag people. If you’ve read this and would like to do the tag as well, consider yourself tagged!
Thank you so much for doing my tag! I absolutely love your OsemanVerse book tag, I’m going to have to do it! And I’ve bookmarked your Ace Recommendations post to get more book recs! Hope you have a great 2020 💕
