I’ve seen this tag going around and I thought it would be fun to do it as well! I don’t know who created this tag, so if you do, let me know and I’ll add it.
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I started His Hideous Heart and a reread of The Goldfinch around the same time, and I got stuck in both of them, even though I was really enjoying them. I guess I’m just not very good at reading multiple books at the same time.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
I have The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave on my November TBR, and I think it has such an autumnal aesthetic!
I’m also currently rereading the Harry Potter series, which I tend to do every year in autumn/winter.
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
I really really really can’t wait to hold The Starless Sea in my hands! I’m determined to read it as soon as possible.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
Well, like I said, The Starless Sea. And I also definitely want to read Hazel’s Theory of Evolution and Tarnished Are the Stars before the end of the year, because I definitely need more asexual/aroace representation in my life.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
THE STARLESS SEA! Honestly, I’d be surprised if I’d end up rating it less than 5 stars. I know, it’s kind of bold to make a statement like this. But really, if it’s “only” a 4 star read, I’ll actually be sorely disappointed.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?
Not really, I usually come up with a number for my reading challenge on January 1st. I do have one ongoing plan and that’s to diversify my reading even more. Of course I do already try to read as diverse as possible, but there’s always room for improvement, and I definitely want to make more of an effort to make sure I’m reading authors of colour.
Like last time, I’m not tagging anyone specifically, but consider yourselves invited to do this tag as well! If you do, make sure to link back to this post so I can see your post 🙂
