The Guilty Reader Book Tag

If you’ve ever wondered why I hardly ever do tags (probably not), it’s because I usually completely forget about them. But they are fun, so I’d love to do more of them! Tiffany @ Gazer of Books tagged me to do the Guilty Reader book tag. I’ve answered the questions below! 🙂

Have you ever re-gifted a book that you’ve been given?

I think not? Maybe to my sister, but I don’t think that actually counts, as it stayed in the same house.

Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?

In uni I had to read a lot of Dutch classics and some of them were pretty much unreadable, so yes, definitely. There were a few that lowkey made me forget how to read.

Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

Yes, and I’m still ashamed about it. I remember in high school we had to read Notes on a Scandal (which was, in hindsight, a really strange book choice). I forgot to return my copy and only realized after I’d graduated.

Have you ever read a series out of order?

No! That’s cursed!

Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

Maybe accidentally? But never anything major, I think. Oh, wait. I might have accidentally told someone major Game of Thrones spoilers one time because I thought she was further along in the series and I wanted to share my pain.

Have you ever dogeared a book?

Probably, yeah. In the past. But I don’t tend to actually do this anymore.

Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

No. Why would I do that?

Have you ever told someone you haven’t read a book when you have?

Maaaaybe. Sometimes my autistic brain wants to get out of conversations.

Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

Only during rereads, I think. I definitely remember rereading Harry Potter and only reading my favourite parts.

Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?

Sure, probably! My faves aren’t perfect and neither are yours!!

Consider yourself tagged if you’d like to do this too! If you do, I’d love for you to tag me in your post so I can see it 🙂

  1. You tell someone you don’t have a book when you do so they don’t ask you to borrow it and then never give it back 😉 I like this tag! It sounds fun. I know in school I wouldn’t always read the books we had to. I just went off Sparknotes or Cliffnotes or even what my classmates read. I was terrible.

  2. An old post now, I know, but I like this tag too! I might tell someone I don’t own a really embarrassing book… Well, I try not to think of books that are embarrassing, but if I know they don’t approve of it and I’m trying to avoid a rant, maybe?
