It’s been a while since I last updated you about my last Year of the Asian 2019 reading challenge, so I figured I’d check in and let you know what I’ve been reading!

Challenge goal
I’ve currently read 55 books by Asian authors, which means I’ve already reached my ultimate goal of reading 50 books or more and gaining the Bengali tiger! But more imporantly, most of these books have been really amazing reads, and I’m very excited for the other books on my TBR as well.
I’m definitely going to continue this challenge to see how many books I end up reading by the end of the year, so there will be another update (or possibly wrap-up) post later in the year.
Immediate TBR
- Aisha Saeed – Amal Unbound
- Aisha Saeed – Written in the Stars
- Hanna Alkaf – The Weight of Our Sky
- Ellen Oh, ed. – A Thousand Beginnings and Endings
- Misa Sugiura – This Time Will Be Different
- Joan He – Descendant of the Crane
- Sara Saedi – Never Ever
- Min Jin Lee – Pachinko
- Gene Luen Yang – American Born Chinese
- Evelyn Skye – Circle of Shadows
- Kevin Kwan – Rich People Problems
- Jeanette Ng – Under the Pendulum Sun
- S.K. Ali – Saints & Misfits
- S.K. Ali – Love From A to Z
- Sara Farizan – Here to Stay
- Misa Sugiura – It’s Not Like It’s A Secret
- Rin Chupeco – The Bone Witch
- Tara Sim – Timekeeper
Do you have any recommendations for me?
Your immediate TBR has some titles that I’m really excited to see there! I don’t think I’ll ever stop being in love with The Bone Witch series and the S.K. Ali titles both ended up pleasantly surprising me! (CW: sexual assault for Saints and Misfits)
Way to absolutely kill it with this challenge! I think I almost have the panda badge last I checked.

That is A Lot Of Books! I loved Timekeeper, and I still need to reread that so I can get to the sequels. I’ve heard good things about Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, which is on my TBR list for this month.
