This year, I’ve participated in The Reading Rush for the first time! Before the readathon started, I shared my TBR post, so now I wanted to tell you about what I actually ended up reading.
I had a lot of fun with this readathon, and it was a very successful reading experience for me. I ended up reading no less than 23 books (I know, I’m surprised as well!). Some of those were novellas or graphic novels, but I also read the entire Shatter Me series, for example.
I read about half of my TBR, which is more than anyone could have expected of me. Here’s my wrap-up:
- Sorcery of Thorns
- Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
- The Witch Boy
- The Starlight Watchmaker
- Dumplin’
- Memento
- The Paper & Hearts Society
- The Chosen
- The Poet X
- Like a Love Story
- Coffee Boy
- The Lightning Thief Graphic Novel
- Every Day
- Elysium
- Shatter Me
- Destroy Me
- Unravel Me
- Fracture Me
- Ignite Me
- Restore Me
- Shadow Me
- Defy Me
- Long Macchiatos and Monsters
My favourite read of the week was definitely Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian, which is a beautiful historical novel about the AIDS crisis and coming of age/coming out in such a traumatic time. My least favourite was The Lightning Thief graphic novel, just because it didn’t capture the essence of the Percy Jackson series at all.
Did you participate in The Reading Rush? Did you have fun? And how many books/pages did you end up reading?
Woah, 23 books??? Color me impressed! 😱 I’m so glad to hear you loved Like a Love Story, since that’s what I’m hoping to pick up next! 😊
