Welcome!

Hello bookworms, and welcome to my blog! I thought I’d start with an introductory post, explaining who I am and what I’m doing here:)

Who am I?

My name is Anniek, and I’m a 23 year old Dutch bibliophile, who’s passionate about books in general, and Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland specifically. I’m currently studying for my master’s degree in Modern Dutch Literature (I only have my thesis left to write – the horror!), and working as a freelance editor of academic texts.

Bookworms unite!

I don’t remember when my love for books and reading started. It was definitely well before I could actually read myself. I used to memorize the stories back then, and I also loved just flicking through books. Until this day, I love reading more than anything. But I also love everything else about books – from how they feel up to how they smell.

Last September, I decided to start an Instagram account solely dedicated to books and reading. It was the best decision I’ve made last year, because not only did I have a lot of fun getting creative with my books to make photos, but ‘bookstagram’ turned out to be such a great, warm community, full of people just like me!

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to start writing a review on Goodreads for every book I’ve read. Aside from that, I’ve decided to start a blog, since that gives me a chance to go into more detail in my reviews and also discuss other book-related topics.

I’m not yet sure how often I will post on here. Since I’ve read almost 200 books in 2016, it won’t be possible for me to post elaborate reviews about all of the books I read. Even so, will try to post often, and also share other book-related stuff, like my monthly TBR’s and wrap-ups.
